CAB Monthly Meeting
Monday, 12 September 2016,  7:00 pm -  9:00 pm
This repeat is an exception to the normal repeat pattern

Climate Action Brookline holds meetings on the second Monday of each month.  Meetings are open to all and are typically held at Brookline Town Hall.

This month: Robert Kaufmann, Professor in the Earth and Environment Department at Boston University, will discuss BICYCLES AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTION.

What is the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels for transportation? Will it help if I ride my bike rather than driving?

The issue of climate change seems so daunting that thinking about it can easily lead to paralysis. But is there an easy and inexpensive change I can make that will make a difference? Yes: get there by bike rather than car.

According to his BU website, Dr. Kaufmann’s research has focused on “global climate change [and] world oil markets....are humans causing climate to change and how will changes in climate affect natural ecosystems and human well-being? My research on world oil markets combines the geological, engineering, and economic determinants of oil supply, oil demand, and oil prices.”

Dr. Kaufmann is also an inveterate bicyclist. He commutes to work each day on a snazzy racing bike.
