Town Government

May 2010: Brookline Town Meeting just approved a new “stretch energy” code that supporters say will encourage more energy efficient building practices in town. Vote was 206 to 3. For more information, please visit the town website and look for Stretch Code Information.

CAB presented and helped pass a town warrant article in May 2008 that established the Selectmen's Climate Action Committee (CAC).  CAB has representatives on the CAC and is working closely with them on multiple initiatives.  For more information on CAC and its work, visit www.brooklinema.gov and then search on Climate Action Committee.

We also work with other departments in Brookline's town government, including:

  • Brookline Solid Waste Advisory Committee
  • Brookline Home Heating Task Force.  CAB participated with a task force directed by Brookline's Health Department to outline recommendations for reducing home heating energy needs and costs.
