Climate Action Brookline holds meetings on the second Monday of each month.  Meeting are open to all and are typically held at Brookline Town Hall.

This month: Net Metering Policy at the Statehouse: Breaking the Stalemate

Speakers: Mark LeBel. Staff Attorney of the Acadia Center. Author of the Next Generation Solar Policy Framework Russell Aney. Former legislative aide. Proprietor of Avid Solar, a photovoltaic installation business in Holden, MA.

There are very different competing positions being debated in the statehouse as to what the state net metering policy should be. Unfortunately, the debate is currently stuck in a political stalemate. While we remain at a standstill, the future of the renewable energy business and our ability to deal with climate change are at stake. Our two panelists will explain the options in this debate, including those exercised in other New England states, and will make their own suggestions about how we can move the ball forward.
